Petunia's Blossom

Lisa Clark of Petunia's

Lisa Clark claims cookie dough and homemade pizza were the first foods she ate on this earth, possibly within moments of her birth. Hyperbolic? Maybe, but also a fitting answer from a lifelong Portlander who grew up as part of a large Italian Family that “lived to cook and loved to eat”.

After a few years away at U of O getting a degree (Go Ducks), Lisa returned to Portland and decided to bake professionally. Inspired by her own experiences and frustrations in finding delicious treats on a restricted diet, Lisa honed in on vegan and gluten-free treats. About a year ago she started Petunia’s Pies and Pastries, selling and selling out her confections to enthusiastic supporters at Alberta Street’s Last Thursday.

For now, Petunia’s is a one-woman show, albeit one with lots of help from friends and family. Saturday’s PSU Market is the next step towards the goal of retail shop and wholesale accounts. Along with the recently acquired Petunia-mobile delivery van and a booth at Portland Farmers Market, Lisa has a website up and running to take orders for weddings, events and parties – you can visit the site here or check out her offerings without having to leave the comfort of Facebook by becoming a fan of Petunia’s Pies and Pastries.
