The Great Pumpkin Event
A true Halloween harvest celebration, this 10th annual fall celebration includes a pumpkin carving contest and a children’s costume parade through the market. This family focused market is highlighted by delicious pumpkin cooking demonstrations!
Playworks, a national nonprofit currently working on-site at eight Portland public schools, will team up with us to lead fun group games with the kids, help with mask making and pumpkin carving throughout the morning.
Playworks is an organization that supports learning by providing safe,
healthy and inclusive play and physical activity to schools at recess
and throughout the entire school day. The organization provides
trained, full-time play coaches, who work on-site to teach games and
encourage students to participate in a healthy and engaging recess and
in playground and classroom activities at each of our partner schools.
The coach becomes a trusted member of the learning community and works
closely with students and staff at the school to transform recess and
play into positive opportunities to learn new social skills, gain
confidence and develop leadership abilities. The result is a school
where there are fewer conflicts, more positive relationships among
students and better focus in classes.

This pre-holiday market has become the premier shopping destination for all the ingredients for a homemade holiday feast. In addition to shopping for all the Thanksgiving meal necessities–from turkeys to cranberries to the sweetest pumpkin for pie–customers enjoy an atmosphere of community making the FEASTival a festive beginning to the holiday season.
