Brussels Sprouts with Brown Butter, Hazelnuts and Sage

Serves 8-12

INGREDIENTS

6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
Chopped sage
Chopped garlic
2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

METHOD

  1. Heat butter and hazelnuts in a skillet over low heat until the butter begins to brown and take on a nutty smell. 

  2. Add garlic and sage and swirl pan until garlic and sage are fragrant and garlic is slightly translucent, about 1 minute.

  3. In a steamer set over boiling water steam the Brussels sprouts, covered, for 6 to 8 minutes, or until they are just tender.

  4. Add Brussels sprouts to pan with brown butter, season with salt and pepper and toss over low heat until combined.
