Portland Farmers Market welcomes non-profit or community-serving groups and organizations to table at our King, Kenton and Lents International Farmers Markets.

Please note:

  • Only non-profit or community-serving groups relevant to our market communities are eligible.
  • We are occasionally able to accommodate non-profit or community-serving groups and organizations at our PSU and Shemanski Park Farmers Markets.
  • Review our Community Groups At Markets Guidelines before you submit an interest form. (Scroll to the bottom of this page to view the guidelines.)
  • Groups and organizations who are accepted may not sell or fundraising at their table.

Community Groups – Market Guidelines

Portland Farmers Market welcomes non-profit or community-serving groups and organizations to table at our three markets (King, Kenton and Lents International Farmers Markets) who fit the following criteria:

  • Groups that are relevant to our specific market communities.
  • Groups with a local connection, or particular relevance, to the market’s neighborhood.
  • Groups with a significant focus on a topic related to the local food system and/or farms or other aspects of our mission, vision, and values.
  • Political issue advocacy for issues that directly relate to Oregon and SW Washington farmers.
  • Religious organizations conduct education and outreach with non-religious messages.

Important information

  • We do not offer space to community groups at our PSU and Shemanski Park Farmers Markets at this time.
  • All community groups must submit an interest form to be considered for space at King, Kenton and Lents International Farmers Markets.
  • There is no fee for community group participation at our farmers markets.
  • Groups may be scheduled for one date per season at each market as space allows.
  • Failure to arrive on time or leave early may impact the group’s ability to participate in future markets.

Community groups who participate at the market are NOT ALLOWED to:

  • Sell items from the booth (i.e., merchandise, raffle tickets, etc.) or fundraise (i.e., donation jars and in-kind products or services, etc).
  • Provide personal services, such as massage or acupuncture.
  • Give away items that directly impact the sales of market vendors.
  • Be political or religious in a partisan manner.
  • Leave the market early. Groups must staff their booth for the entirety of the market. Speak with market management before the scheduled market day to make special arrangements.

At Market Guidelines

  • Arrive no later than 30 minutes before the market opening.
  • Upon arrival, check in at the market information booth under the yellow canopy, where you will be directed to your assigned space and given instructions for unloading.
  • PFM will provide a 10 x 10-foot canopy, one six-foot table, and two chairs. Please let us know if you would like to use your own canopy and table.
  • Be set up and ready to engage with shoppers by the market opening bell.
  • Bring/provide the following items:
    •  A tablecloth (required)
    • Banner, signage and other items to create an attractive display
    • Handouts and pamphlets
    • Friendly staff/volunteers appropriately dressed for the weather
    • An activity to engage shoppers in conversation and contribute to the dynamic market environment
  • Street parking is available around the markets. After setting up, please park three blocks from the market site to allow space for market shoppers. 
  • Market staff is available for help and questions. They can be identified by bright red shirts/jackets.

Community Booth Rating

  • Market staff will provide feedback to PFM’s Community Group coordinator regarding your group’s engagement with shoppers, taking into account shopper and vendor feedback.
  • Groups that provide poor or lack of engagement at the market may not be invited to return the following season.

Cancellation Policy

  • Please contact us if you cannot attend the market on your scheduled date at any of our markets.
  • If you must cancel within 24 hours’ notice, please contact the on-site marketing manager (listed on your confirmation email) to ensure communication is received.
  • Failure to communicate your inability to attend will impact your ability to participate in future markets.

Mobile Signature Collecting Guidelines

  • PFM does not bar people from walking around to collect signatures at our markets that are in public spaces like King and Kenton Farmers Market.
  • Please do not interfere with the market’s business, including vendor sales and PFM transactions & interactions.
