PSU Market Closed Jan 14 Due to Unsafe Conditions

Portland Farmers Market will be closed on Saturday, January 14 due to unsafe conditions at Portland State University campus.

Heavy snow toppled trees and broke limbs in the South Park Blocks where the market is located, making it unsafe. Remaining snow and ice on branches pose a threat and Portland State University has determined that it is not safe to hold a market in these conditions.

Farmers and food vendors are hardy souls who show up to the market rain or shine in order to bring farm-fresh and hand-crafted food to appreciative Portlanders each week. Rare is the occasion that we close any market due to weather but the safety of vendors and shoppers is our highest priority.

We plan to be open on Saturday, Jan. 21. Updates about market times, locations and closures can be found at portlandfarmersmarket.org and on Portland Farmers Market’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts or call the office at 503-241-0032.
