Kenton & Northwest Markets Closed This Week Due to Heat

The Kenton Farmers Market on August 2 and the Northwest Farmers Market on August 3 will be closed due to extreme temperatures predicted for the area.

Local weather forecasts are predicting temperatures up to 109 degrees. These extreme temperatures pose a threat to the safety of market vendors and shoppers and Portland Farmers Market has determined it is not safe to hold a market in these conditions.

Farmers and food vendors are hardy souls who show up to the market rain or shine in order to bring farm-fresh and hand-crafted food to appreciative Portlanders each week. Rare is the occasion that we close any market due to weather, but the safety of vendors and shoppers is our highest priority.

The Shemanski Park Farmers Market will remain open for its regularly scheduled hours on Wednesday, August 2. Stay tuned for updates regarding our weekend markets.
