2018 Country Financial Bag Contest Winner Announced

Wilson High School Student Wins 2018 Portland Farmers Market Bag Design Contest

PORTLAND, Ore. – June 11, 2018 – Portland Farmers Market and COUNTRY Financial® announced Trent Nesbitt as the winner of the 2018 Reusable Bag Design Contest on Saturday, June 9 at the PSU Farmers Market. Nesbitt, who just completed his sophomore year at Wilson High School took home a $2,000 scholarship from COUNTRY Financial and the pride of having his artwork featured on the 1,000 canvas shopping bags that were distributed to market goers.

Over one hundred Portland-area high school students submitted original artwork in the eight annual bag design contest. Students were asked to submit original artwork around the theme “You’ve got a lot growing for you” and use inspiration from Portland’s spring and summer seasons and local market goods in their designs.

Chloe Unflat a sophomore at Wilson High School earned second place and a $1,000 scholarship, while Nancy Grace Bignell, a senior at Lakeridge High School earned third place and a $500 scholarship. Sasha Hennig, a sophomore at Lakeridge High School took home the People’s Choice award and a $250 scholarship.
