Country Financial Bag Design Contest Gallery Event

More than 200 talented Portland-area students submitted designs for the sixth annual Portland Farmers Market Reusable Bag Design Contest. The public is invited to check out the artwork, visit with some of the artists and vote for their favorite design at a Gallery Event hosted by COUNTRY Financial this Thursday, April 28.

Students were asked to create a design depicting the “From Our Farm to Your Fork” theme. For a second year in row, the local community will select the People’s Choice Winner at the Gallery Event. This student will receive a $250 scholarship and join the other contest finalists at the Portland State University Farmers Market on Saturday, June 4.

The winning design, which will be unveiled at the farmers market, will be printed on canvas bags that will be distributed throughout the season. The grand prize winner will also be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Two runners-up will each receive a $500 scholarship.

The Gallery Event will be held Thursday, April 28 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at The Best Art Gallery in Portland located at 1468 NE Alberta St.
