SPECIAL AT-MARKET EXHIBITORS: Entrepreneurs from Chungju-Si, South Korea

Some new faces will be at Portland Farmers Market at Portland State University when it hosts four small businesses from Chungju-Si, South Korea, on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 8:30 am – 2 pm.
The visiting business owners will have a dedicated booth at the market where they will be joined by directors from the cultural city center of Chungju Jungwon Cultural Foundation and members of a South Korean broadcasting company. Shoppers will have the opportunity to meet these international entrepreneurs, learn about their products, services and missions, and sample their wares. Additionally, Portland Farmers Market vendors will be able to exchange information and discuss the benefits and challenges of owning a small business in South Korea and the United States.
The four South Korean businesses visiting Portland Farmers Market at Portland State University are:
- 14Grams Roastery Café: Named for the amount of coffee used to make a double-shot espresso, this cafe offers high-quality single-origin coffee and is dedicated to promoting the comprehensive café culture within their community
- Space Seon: A social enterprise & small eco village practicing “a harmonious life between people and nature,” manufacturing eco-friendly cosmetic and lifestyle products, rainwater storage tanks and composting toilets.
- Machi Workshop: An active maker space for local craftspeople to hone their skills, develop their business and get their services and products in front of consumers. Artistic and functional crafts include textile and apparel production, pottery, wood crafts, artisanal food products and more.
- Little Alsace: A local winemaker growing grapes and apples to ferment into wine and spirits with naturally occurring yeasts and sugars.
