Sponsor Highlight: Portland General Electric

PGEPortland Farmers Market is committed to reducing the market’s ecological footprint wherever possible and inspiring change in our market community of customers and vendors.

Our vendors demonstrate this commitment in a variety of ways, including organic growing practices, local sourcing, sustainable packaging, participation in our durable dining program and for the following vendors, participation in Portland General Electric’s Renewable Energy Options:

  • Cascadia Chestnuts
  • Dancing Light Ranch
  • Enchanted Sun Breakfast Burritos
  • Eva’s Herbucha
  • Mercy Corps
  • Missionary Chocolates
  • Symple Foods
  • The Smokery
  • Three Sisters Nixtamal
  • Verde Cocina
  • Winters Farms

PGE has been a sponsor of Portland Farmers Market since 2013, and their staff can be found at our markets throughout the year, encouraging shoppers to sign up for renewable energy, provided by Green Mountain Energy. While you are shopping for your weekly groceries, picking up lunch and enjoying market music, we encourage you to take a few minutes and talk with PGE staff about the benefits of participating.

Green Power customers can get perks, such as coupons for PFM vendors like Winters Farms.

For just a few extra dollars on your monthly power bill, PGE residential customers and some small to mid-size commercial and industrial customers can participate. Two options are available to eligible customers, including Green Source and Clean Wind, with an additional option to add Habitat Support.

In addition to the satisfaction of helping reduce air pollution and supporting the development of renewable electricity generation facilities, customers receive other benefits, such as a local coupon book that offers discounts on local items, including ten percent off your purchase at PFM vendor Winters Farms.

For more information about PGE’s renewable energy program, visit their website or stop by their booth at PSU on Oct. 31 or Shemanski Park on Nov.4.
