Celebrate the planet every time you shop at the fa Celebrate the planet every time you shop at the farmers market!

You'll find locally grown food that is fresher, helps reduce waste, and fosters connections, among other benefits to the Earth:

🥚🫜Support Local Farms & Food Businesses🫔☕️
Shopping at farmers markets sustains small regional growers, ranchers, fishers, foragers and food producers.
In contrast, supermarkets and national chain grocery stores typically acquire food from large factory farms and distributors.
Every dollar spent with vendors helps small local farms & food businesses thrive, and supports the local economy.

🍎Know Where Your Food Comes From🍓
Engage directly with farmers and food producers at the market to learn more about them and how they grow/make the food you consume.

☀️Enjoy Fresher and Better-Tasting Produce 🍂
Eat Seasonally! Fruits and veggies grown in the season they were intended to be grown in are fresher, more flavorful and more nutritious than food consumed out of season. The farmers market provides direct access to plump snap peas in spring, juicy tomatoes in summer, sweet corn in fall and deliciously bitter radicchio in the winter.

🏔 Reduce Your Food Miles🚚
Food in the US travels an average of 1,500 miles to get to your plate. Shipping food uses enormous amounts of natural resources, contributes to pollution, and generates excess packaging waste.
By shopping at the farmers market, you can cut down on food miles; our local farmers and food producers travel an average of fewer than 50 miles to grow and prepare their products.

🙂 Connect with Community😃
Join your neighbors and gather with friends and family at the market. Form new friendships. This is beneficial for you, others, and the planet!

Experience the local & exotic flavors of Kahuna Ko Experience the local & exotic flavors of Kahuna Kombucha at PSU Farmers Market this Saturday!

🌴Meet Alicia, the owner and brewer pictured above, as she shares more about her deliciously crafted fermented beverage and business:

Our kombucha blends the bold, tropical flavors of Hawaii with the fresh, earthy ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. With family roots in the islands and a passion for fermentation, we brew each batch with care, culture, and a whole lot of aloha.

I brew all my uniquely flavored kombucha in small batches, using mostly organic, locally sourced ingredients. I offer over 50 flavors, including seasonal blends.

The name Kahuna Kombucha was derived from living in Hawaii for 18 years. In the Hawaiian language, Kahuna means sorcerer or magician. I feel it is fitting because of the magical properties kombucha has on the body and mind.

My true passion for starting the business came from my son, who has Autism. My goal is to teach him the kombucha business so he has something to call his own and can support himself in the years to come.

A percentage of our profits is donated quarterly to help animals, people, and the environment overcome great obstacles and know there is always hope.
