Experience the rich umami flavors of Jorinji Miso Experience the rich umami flavors of Jorinji Miso at PSU Farmers Market this Saturday!

Jorinji Miso makes premium handcrafted unpasteurized miso, as well as koji (a key ingredient in miso), shio-koji, amazake, and pickles, using traditional methods. Their miso and products are produced from scratch and fermented locally, which can take 6 months or up to 5 years in the Portland climate.

There are only two businesses in Oregon (including Jorinji) that make miso and koji, so it's pretty special to have them join the market!

Jorinji Miso is owned by Earnest Migaki, a third-generation Japanese American born and raised here in Portland, and Yuri Migaki, a Japanese immigrant who moved to Portland in 2015. The business was founded in 1995 by Earnest and his first wife, Sumiko (who was also Japanese). Eighteen years after the business began, Sumiko suddenly passed away. Earnest lived alone for a couple of years and met Yuri in 2015; now Earnest and Yuri run Jorinji together.

Find Jorinji Miso at PSU Farmers Market on the 1st Saturday of every month.
Stop by their booth to meet their dedicated team, learn about their offerings, and sample their delicious, locally crafted fermented miso!

PRO TIP: get to their booth early - they have quite a loyal following, and they sell out of products!😀
Taste the uniquely flavored booch of Golden Age Ko Taste the uniquely flavored booch of Golden Age Kombucha at King Farmers Market this Sunday!
Golden Age Kombucha is an effervescent probiotic tea beverage brewed in small batches with thoughtfully sourced ingredients in Northeast Portland near our market. (Can't get more local than that!)
Far less vinegary than the big brand booches found in grocery stores, Golden Age Kombucha's flavors range from tart to subtly sweet with a variety of rotating flavors, so there's always something new to look forward to each week they are at the market!
Sample their signature flavors, such as Blood Orange Ginger and Flower Power, along with seasonal offerings like Palo Santo Rose, Sassy Carrot, and Lilac Lemonade—they're truly delightful!
Golden Age is committed to environmental sustainability (yeah!) and collaborates with local green businesses and small organic farms (love that!).
Available in reusable growlers and growlettes, they also offer the kombucha in cans and 16-oz cup pours.
Visit Golden Age Kombucha at King Farmers Market on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of every month. We think you will like what they have to offer!

Arcoiris is a small-batch fusion beverage company crafting non-alcoholic, vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO sparkling beverages with Peruvian ingredients and flavors. Currently, they offer two elixirs:

Elixir #1: Chicha Morada (chee-chah mor-ah-da) is a beloved Peruvian beverage made from maíz morado (purple corn). Originating from the Peruvian Andes, maíz morado is revered by indigenous people as a "plant of remembrance". This sweet, fruity, and mildly spiced elixir is also available in a zero-sugar version. A honey version is coming soon.

Elixir #2: Lucuma (loo-koo-muh) is a native tropical fruit found in Peru and South America. This exilir has creamy, mellow & lightly sweet flavors and is rich in antioxidants, especially flavonoids, which are known for their anti-inflammatory effects.

You can find Arcoiris and their delicious beverages at the market on the first Wednesday of every month, as well as at the PSU, King, and Kenton Farmers Markets. Don't miss out!
