Community Groups At The Markets

We are interested in hosting groups that meet the following criteria:

• Must be non-profit and/or community-serving.
• Local connection, or particular relevance, to the market’s neighborhood.
• Significant focus on a topic related to the local food system and farms or other aspects of PFM’s mission, vision, and values.
• Political advocacy for issues directly related to Oregon and SW Washington farmers.

Please note we allow religious organizations to conduct education and outreach with non-religious messages.

Any group that does not meet any of the aforementioned criteria can acquire space in our markets through becoming a sponsor or exhibitor. Learn more about these opportunities here. 

• Booth space is only being offered at our three neighborhood farmers markets: King, Kenton and Lents International.
• Groups may be scheduled for one date per season at each neighborhood market for no fee, as space allows.
• If you are interested in multiple days at one market, we may be able to offer additional dates as available for a fee.

Day-of Guidelines

• Arrive no later than 30 minutes before the market opening.
• PFM will provide and set up a 10 x 10-foot canopy, one six-foot table, and two chairs.
• You will need to bring and set up the following items:
  • A tablecloth (required)
  • Branded banner, signage and other items to identify your group and create an attractive display
  • Handouts and pamphlets about your group
  • Friendly staff/volunteers appropriately dressed for the weather.
  • An activity to engage shoppers in conversation and contribute to the dynamic market environment.
• You must staff your booth for the entire duration of the market.
  • Speak with the market manager before the scheduled market day to make special arrangements.

Groups are prohibited from engaging in the following activities at the market:

• Selling items from the booth (i.e., merchandise, raffle tickets, etc.) or fundraising (i.e., donation jars, in-kind products or services, etc.)
• Providing personal services, such as chiropractic care, massage, or acupuncture.
• Giving away items that directly impact the sales of market vendors (i.e., food, beverages, tote bags, t-shirts, etc.)
• Engaging in political or religious activities in a partisan manner.
• Leaving the market early without prior market manager permission.

Community Group Rating

• The market manager will provide feedback to our Community Engagement Manager regarding your group’s interaction with shoppers and vendors.
• Groups that do not adhere to the market guidelines may not be invited to return the following season.

Cancellation Policy

• Contact the Community Engagement Manager directly as soon as possible if your group cannot attend the market on the scheduled date.
• Groups that no show may not be invited to return the following season.
