Owners Akiko and Ayako craft their product locally and aim to share this unique beverage to support health-conscious living while connecting cultures through food. Amazake is a delicious, umami-filled, plant-based drink that has been treasured in Japan for over 1,000 years. It is made from just three ingredients: rice, koji, and water. This non-alcoholic drink is naturally sweetened through the fermentation process and contains no gluten, lactose, or added sugar. Amazake is rich in gut-friendly enzymes, vitamin B, and amino acids, and contains significantly higher probiotic concentrations compared to other fermented foods. You can enjoy Amazake as a refreshing drink, or used in smoothies, overnight oats, and various other recipes.
