Chef in the Market: Rangoon Bistro

As part of our Chef in the Market series this season, we are delighted to welcome the chef from Rangoon Bistro for a recipe demo, highlighting the freshest seasonal produce sourced directly from local vendors.

Everyone is invited to stop by the Chef’s booth to see his culinary expertise and learn about the local ingredients he uses. You can also sample the recipe and ask questions!

About the Chef:
Rangoon Bistro is a counter-service Burmese restaurant established in 2022 by chefs David Sai and Alex Saw—veterans of acclaimed kitchens across Southeast Asia—and Portland native Nick Sherbo. A true Portland success story, the restaurant was born from a beloved farmers market pop-up and now counts two brick-and-mortar locations. Rangoon Bistro’s menu marries time-honored Burmese recipes with the Pacific Northwest’s finest local ingredients. Through each dish, Rangoon Bistro continues its mission: using food to honor heritage while inviting diners to explore Burmese culture and cuisine.
